I am the last and only dictator of Europe

Helmut Sorge | Posted : February 03, 2022

His message was one of reassurance, just as a great leader has to react in a crisis. The concerns about Covid 19 was nothing but “a frenzy and psychosis”. The President knew the secret to defeat the virus: vodka, sauna, tractor. Didn’t a US president named Donald Trump suggest  that toilet cleaning disinfectants chase the virus out of infected lungs on national television? (New York Times, April 24, 2020) That was Trump-speak, sure, but the man who uttered the tractor/vodka/nonsense was not Trump, but Alexander Lukashenko, 67, President of Belarus, a former Soviet republic  neighboring Poland, Latvia, and Lithuania.

A plethora of strategies and plans

It has been more than 100 years since Germany manifested colonial power, a dark period of history indeed. Political and military leaders, supported by its ruler, Wilhelm II, Emperor of Germany and King of Prussia, committed crimes against humanity on African land.  The first genocide of the 20th Century, mass killings of 65 000 Herero in Africa, today known as Namibia. Between 1904 and 1908, Germany suffocated humanity in concentration camps like Shark Island, forcing them into deadly labor camps.

It’s going to be hell on earth

Time was running out. The invisible, enemy combatants floated into the capital like ghosts. Unopposed, ready to take power, twenty years after they were chased out of town by American military might. August 15/16, 2021, historic days for the Taliban known for severe military and humanitarian abuses.

They spit on the history of France

Lucy Williamson, a BBC reporter on assignment in the southern French town Béziérs, was surprised when she observed about a hundred people lined up in  front of  the auditorium where a “polémiste  réactionaire” (Le Temps, September  24, 2021), was scheduled  to speak. They waited and waited -no more seats. “Not bad for a man, who has not declared his candidacy yet”, noted the BBC-journalist. (October 19, 2021). The show was for free, and a show it was. Politics removed from political science, replaced by populism, a touch, at times an overdose, of racism when Eric Zemmour is provoking, insulting, debating or speaking, as in Béziers, about those “un- French” persons involved in the education system,” infiltrated by Marxism, anti-racism and LGBT ideologies, paid with your taxes, they constantly spit on you, they spit on the history of France and culture, and they spit on the French people, whom they want to disappear”.

Falcons and fighter jets

Feeble eyesight may hinder you from finding Puntland on a map, the unrecognized Federal member state in Somalia, Khaatumo State, Jubaland, or Somaliland, concerning the planet’s size just large enough to be covered by the shadow of a palm tree. Arab entities surrounded by sun and sand and the Gulf of Aden, Somaliland is surviving as a self-declared nation, located on the southern coast of the Gulf of Aden bordered by Djibouti to the northwest, Ethiopia to the south and west, Somalia to the east.

Until you plant a tree, you haven't done anything

In life, all forests seem magical, feels Thoralya Dyer, an Australian writer. Dwarfs and ghosts floating above the autumn leaves; Robin Hood, the British cult figure, hiding in a tree trunk in a forest of the king of England, who controls all 'nature's treasures; deer and mushrooms included, bees and Oaktree's, you name it. There is hardly any culture, which does not celebrate the mystery of trees; planks of wood allowed Columbus to discover America. Cedar built Noah's arch to save the animal kingdom if you believe Lebanese tales, and with Cedarwood Solomon's biblical temple was erected and turned into a never ending saga. A million, perhaps two million years ago, the homo Erectus discovered how to light a fire by rubbing stones, and that was it. Forever forests were massacred to make room for grazing animals and crop- the feet of Cowboys warmed by the campfire, Indians on the warpath communicating with smoke signals; boy scouts holding hands around the bonfire, singing to a guitar “a world so full of love”, while Hitler's followers of a hellish Aryan Fata Morgana were burning. in May 1933, books, written by Jewish authors like Thomas Mann, Karl Marx, Albert Einstein, Erich Maria Remarque, Sigmund Freud, Franz Kafka, and Heinrich Heine, who warned the world in his play Almansor (1820),” where they burn books, they also ultimately will burn people.”

The folly of humanity

Simon Kofe, the Foreign Minister in charge of Communication and Justice of Tuvalu, a 25.9 square miles’ nation located in the South Pacific, was standing at the podium in suit and tie. But when he rolled up his trouser, he was barefoot, feeling white sand under his feet, the warm, sparkling clear water up to his knees. A PR stunt filmed at the far end of Fongafate, the primary islet of the capital Funafuti.

A Relapse into conflict?

How do you treat a brutal dictator who had lost power after 42 years, hiding in a drainpipe, after his convoy was attacked by fighter jets from the air? It was a bloody mess and not a pretty scene. The dictator had a few seconds to beg for his life, “what did I do to you», he gasped reported the London Guardian on October 22, 2011, and then his turbulent life came to an end, shot with a pistol. Triumphantly his assassin raised Gaddafi’s golden revolver -- a few minutes of global fame, later, the shadow of death touched the rebel as well.
